The Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC) Hub was abuzz with activity during the afternoon of May 30.
Around 17 exhibitors were on hand for the Stettler Children’s Fair, which is a resource for parents in the community.
Having rebranded from the previous year’s Early Year’s Fair, which was focused on children from 0-6 years of age, the Children’s Fair was expanded to include children up to 10 years old.
While the kids had fun playing games and checking out the activities, parents were able to get information from exhibitors, such as Stettler’s McMan Family Resource Network, about what activities and services are available for both children and caregivers in the community.
“The event was really well attended,” said Lisa Tait, the McMan Family Resource Network coordinator via email.
According to Tait, some of the activities kids had the opportunity to participate in included going for a ride on a school bus, getting photos taken with Mario and Princess Peach, and trying sports like lacrosse or gymnastics.
“The kids had lots of fun and caregivers had the opportunity to learn about all the family-centred resources in the community,” said Tait.
According to Tait, around 50 families, or 138 people, attended the roughly two-hour event.
