On Friday, Sept. 25th, the County of Stettler, the Summer Village of Rochon Sands and the Summer Village of White Sands mutually agreed to recess mediation until Jan. 14th, 2021.

All three parties concur, a recess will allow the time required to properly and appropriately review current plans while looking towards the future.

A consultant for the County of Stettler will complete an Area Structure Plan, which will be made available to all members of the BLSSIDP in January.

The County of Stettler pursued dispute resolution with the members of the Buffalo Lake Intermunicipal Development Plan (BLSSIDP) on March 9th, 2020, following a denied request to amend the allowable density of the Buffalo Lake RV Resort (formerly Paradise Shores) from 168 dwelling units, to 325 dwelling units.

This is Stage 4 of the Dispute Resolution process, as outlined in the BLSSIDP.

Mediation Protocols are available for viewing at: www.StettlerCounty.ca and www.rochonsands.net.
