Battle River School Division (BRSD) has announced a new partnership with Lakeland College.
Over 30 students attended an open house at the college's Vermillion campus on Oct. 18 to promote BRSD's dual-credit programming.
In a memorandum of understanding signed between BRSD and Lakeland College, both partners agree to "explore future dual credit opportunities" for BRSD students.
"This collaboration aims to expand educational pathways by allowing students to earn both high school and post-secondary credits, enhancing their learning experiences and career readiness," notes the release announcing the partnership.
The day at Lakeland College allowed students to check out the diverse programs at the college.
"Students mentioned some highlights to be power engineering, esthetics, welding, interior design technology and agriculture studies options," continued the release.
The BRSD superintendent, Rhae-Ann Holoien, is enthusiastic about the new partnership.
“We are excited to offer our students this opportunity to explore the incredible possibilities at Lakeland College,” said Holoien. “This event represents another step forward in supporting our students' educational journeys and expanding their access to post-secondary options.”
