In consultation with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Education, we will be shifting all grades in Botha School and Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus to online at-home learning beginning Tuesday, May 4th through May 17th.

“In collaboration with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Education, we will reassess whether we will move to in-person or continue online learning the weekend prior to May 18th, 2021. In-class learning is expected to resume on Tuesday, May 18th.”

Botha School has been deemed an alert by Alberta Health Services, according to Clearview Public Schools.

“The cases we are dealing with starting Monday, May 3rd, 2021 are having a significant impact on our entire school community, with at least 55 per cent of our students needing to quarantine as well as 71 per cent of our staff members.

“William E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus has been deemed an outbreak school by Alberta Health Services. The numerous cases beginning on Monday, April 26th, 2021 are having a significant impact on our entire school community, with at least 20.5 per cent of our students needing to isolate and at least 42 per cent of our students who were away from in-class learning today.

“Please know that this decision was not made lightly and as we continue to realize the strains that COVID-19 places on us we need to be flexible with our decision making and put our students and their learning and well-being at the center of all conversations and decisions.

“As always, do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher, school counselors, and school administrator for additional support or clarification. While this is a challenging time, we trust you will continue to feel well supported by our staff, school, and district.”
