2024 Stettler Hike for hospice a success

Annual event raises around $18,000

The Stettler Hospice Society hosted one of its fundraisers on May 5.

Held in West Stettler Park, the annual Hike for Hospice had around 80 participants taking part in one, three or five-kilometre loops.

"It could be a record," said Chad Dalsin, a member of the hospice society.

After the participants returned to the staging area, hospice volunteers were serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, and coffee and hot chocolate donated by local businesses.

Several awards were handed out to both individuals and corporate groups who took part in fundraising for the hike.

There was even an award presented for the best-dressed dog!

In total, the Hike for Hospice raised "close to $18,000."
