A pair of Stettler men arrested by Bashaw RCMP officers in September 2022 will be spending some time behind bars.
Jesse James Lyman MacDonald, 33, and Tristan Ruby, 37, of Stettler were arrested on a variety of charges in September.

MacDonald’s case made its way to trial on May 11 at the Stettler Court of Justice.
According to documents released by the provincial Court of Justice, MacDonald was convicted on four different charges after pleading guilty. For possession of stolen property over $5,000 he received 120 days in prison. For flight from a peace officer, he received 150 days. For failing to comply with a release order, he received 20 days. For the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, he received 90 days.
Several other charges, including some firearms offences, were withdrawn by the crown. In total, with the sentences being served consecutively, MacDonald received just over one year of jail time. In addition, he also received a six-month licence suspension upon his release.
Ruby, who plead guilty to his charges stemming from this incident was sentenced to 90 days in jail for two separate charges of failing to comply with a release order while the remainder of his charges were withdrawn by the Crown.
