Hamlet of Halkirk receives new firetruck

The truck was received in a small ceremony on April 25

The Halkirk Fire Department has received a new fire truck.

Members of the department received the truck in a small ceremony which took place on the afternoon of April 25.

The latest in a long history of service, the Halkirk Fire Department received its first fire truck in 1952, a second-hand truck purchased from Lamont County.

With the Village dissolving and becoming a hamlet as of Jan. 1, 2025, Paintearth County has taken over administration of the fire department, though it is still manned by local volunteers from the hamlet.
