The Endmoor Floor Curling Club in Endiang sent two teams to the floor curling bonspiel hosted by the Stettler club on April 23 at The Hub in the Stettler Recreation Centre.
Teams participating were: Terry Gallant, Pat Anderson, Rosemary Stulberg and Deanna Johnson as well as Raechel Boertien, Roxy Gallagher, Luann Buchwitz and Don Hall.
All reported a fun day and Don Hall was the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw.
Byemoor School students participated in World Earth Day on the morning of April 22 by having a clean-up in the hamlet of Byemoor. Students and staff gathered the garbage and debris that manages to accumulate over winter. The weather cooperated, and they wrapped up with hot dogs and watermelon outside. A big thanks goes out to all those participating for doing your part in helping Byemoor look clean and tidy and promoting a cleaner environment.
Farmers in the Endiang - Byemoor area have begun the seeding operations of their spring crops. The area has had a fairly dry spring so far. Fingers are crossed that ample rain falls at the right times to produce bumper crops for the farmers who feed the world.
Remember the Endiang Cemetery Club meeting is coming up on Wednesday, April 30 at 2 p.m. at the Endiang Community Hall. The club is looking for new members to lend a hand. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
Also keep in mind the Mother’s Day events coming up in the Endmoor community:
— Mother’s Day Strawberry Tea and Social at the Byemoor Community Hall on Saturday, May 10 at 2 p.m. There will be a short program and quilt raffle. The tea is hosted by the Byemoor Ladies Home Circle and proceeds will go to the Byemoor Centennial Celebration.
— Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast at the Endiang Community Hall on Sunday, May 11. Breakfast is served from 9 – 11 a.m. and is hosted by the Endiang Board of Trade with proceeds going to hamlet beautification.
Humour for the Day —
“Some people are convinced every time a sock goes missing in the dryer it comes back as an extra Tupperware lid.”
“Life is like a dogsled team. If you aren’t the lead dog, the scenery never changes.”
“Silence is golden. Unless you have children, then silence is suspicious.”
“If a mute swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?”
