The Coronation RCMP is reminding drivrs that the annual provincial highway cleanup will be taking place on May 3.
Volunteers from across the province will be helping clean up provincial highways.
"Each spring, thousands of volunteers work together to help keep Alberta’s roadways clean, while raising funds to support local non-profit organizations," said Sgt. Jeremy Houle, Coronation detachment commander in a media release. "This year’s cleanup will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, and motorists can expect to see volunteers wearing bright safety vests as they collect garbage along highways throughout the province."
Drivers are asked to stay alert and use caution when travelling near the cleanup crews.
Tips to keep in mind include slowing down when approaching crews, obeying all posted signs, watching for volunteers near roadways, and giving workers, including any youth who may be helping, plenty of space when passing.
