The Coronation RCMP is reminding all drivers in the region to wear their seatbelts for safety.
In an early March release, the detachment notes that proper seatbelt use can reduce the likelihood of death or serious injury in collision.
Additionally, the law requires all drivers in a vehicle to wear seatbelts, and a seatbelt infraction could cost someone $162.
When putting on a seatbelt, ensure it is not twisted, and the lap portion should be snug across the hips with the shoulder part coming down across the middle of the chest.
The release advises that seatbelts should be worn whenever the vehicle is in motion, even on backroads and private property.
Drivers are responsible for ensuring everyone in the vehicle is buckled, in addition to themselves.
