The Botha Rhymes meetings will be held every Thursday morning. This is a program that helps students gain literacy and school readiness skills for children from the ages of 0-6 years of age. This is also free of charge, so make sure you bring your child to the school for this, every Thursday morning, if you like. This program continues until sometime in June when the school lets out. Everyone is welcome.

Two special gentlemen from our little community are celebrating their birthdays this coming week. Both Wally Hudson and Neil Thorsteinson will be celebrating on April 24, so hopefully both of you have fantastic birthdays.

On April 27 is Professional Development Day at the school, so hopefully everyone has a great relaxing weekend.

How’s your rocket making coming along, which is this month’s challenge at the school. Don’t forget to take these to the school the morning of April 26, as this will be the day they will be shot up in the air to see which one will go up the highest. So make sure you come out that day and watch them fly. Hopefully the weather will be nice for these, as these will be lifted up in the air.

On April 29 at 1:30 p.m. is the Old Tyme Dance, with the East West Connection Band entertaining that afternoon. The theme for this one is western so wear something accordingly if you wish. The committee is also asking everyone to bring with them either buns/sandwiches, salads or desert to have at the 5 p.m.

Quilting is on April 30, starting at 9:30 a.m. Sympathy goes out to the family of Tammie Roxanne Toher, who passed away peacefully at the age of 52. Graveside services were held at the Botha Cemetery for the family only, but a celebration of life for Tammie will be held at a later date for family and friends. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Fountain if you like.

Senior Day will be held on May 7 starting at noon. So hopefully all seniors will be able to attend this important meeting.

On May 8 there is a floor curling bonspiel so come join in if you like. Floor curling is held every Thursday at 1 p.m. but this one is a bonspiel so there will be groups from all over that day. Good luck to all the players for that exciting day.
