Bashaw hotel robbed at gunpoint

Police searching for lone male suspect

Bashaw RCMP is on the lookout for a male suspect who allegedly robbed a local hotel at gunpoint.

Police received a call just before 1 p.m. on Nov. 6 about a potential armed robbery. Police say a male entered the hotel bar carrying what appeared to be a sawed off firearm. Police say the male pointed the weapon at hotel staff and patrons before demanding cash from the till and the video lottery terminal.

Once he had the cash, police say he fled and was seen getting into a white regular cab Chevrolet pickup truck.

No one was injured during the incident.

Patrols by Bashaw, Stettler and Blackfalds RCMP were unable to locate the vehicle.

Police are now asking the public for help in locating the suspect. He is described as Caucasian, about six-feet-tall, wearing dark blue coveralls with a reflective stripe and was masked.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bashaw RCMP at 780-372-3793 or call their local police detachment.

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), by Internet at tipsubmit.com or by SMS.
