Being grateful

I wanted to give an enormous “thank you” to everyone in the Stettler community for all your support and donations, for the Gods Eye Orphanage Home in Ghana, Africa (G.E.O.).

Dear editor,

I wanted to give an enormous “thank you” to everyone in the Stettler community for all your support and donations, for the Gods Eye Orphanage Home in Ghana, Africa (G.E.O.). My experience in Ghana was rewarding, challenging and unforgettable.

Now I am much thankful for the luxuries that we have in Alberta such as drinking water out of the tap as compared to buying water in 500ml plastic bags, or bottles; or taking a shower instead of a bucket bath.

Even turning on the light, instead of hearing the common phrase ‘light-off’. I am even more grateful for having wonderful family, friends and community that care about me and that will help me in so many ways.

I will never forget the wonderful experience, and the people in Ghana. The children will always be close in my heart. I hope one day to return to Ghana.
