An act of kindness

Dear Editor:

Some nights after work, I go out to West Stettler Park with my favorite coffee and sit to collect my thoughts and watch the geese with their babies.

On Friday, June 26, I witnessed and act of human kindness.

A family of six geese were on the pond, but one gosling seemed to be having trouble.

So I went down to look closer and another fellow came over. We figured he was stuck on a fishing line.

In the meantime, another man walked over and proceeded to take off shoes, socks and shirt and just walked into the cold water, found the line and pulled the little gosling loose from it. The little fellow swam away to his family.

Some people may say “Big deal, so he saved a gosling.”

But if every person in every country across this big old world of ours could perform only one act of human kindness such as that, would it not make this world juts a little bit better?
