Red Deer resident killed in Highway 20 crash near Bentley

A 29-year-old from Red Deer was killed in a car accident south of Bentley on Tuesday, April 22. 

Sylvan Lake RCMP responded to the two-vehicle collision on Highway 20, between Highway 12 and Township Road 402, around 7:48 a.m. 

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. 

The 29-year-old passenger from Red Deer was taken to the hospital with critical injuries and pronounced dead. 

Police say that a preliminary investigation indicates poor roads were a contributing factor. 

The scene has been cleared and traffic has resumed. 

Alberta RCMP send condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
