Ponoka woman charged with uttering threats towards Calgary nude swimming event

Event at the Southland Leisure Centre was cancelled after an investigation into the threat

Calgary police have charged a 26 year old woman who allegedly threatened a nude swimming event.

Police learned of the threat on Jan. 8, and followed up with an investigation that led to an eventual warrant for her arrest.

Following a risk assessment into the threat, Calgary Recreation cancelled the event set for the following weekend at the Southland Leisure Centre.

Arie Christine Guthrie, of Ponoka has been charged with one count of uttering threats, and is to appear in court on Friday, Apr. 6, 2018.
