The 88th Ponoka Stampede is June 25 to July 1.

The thundering hooves, high-octane action and adrenaline-filled atmosphere of the annual Ponoka Stampede that draws in the top rodeo athletes from around the world and fills the stands with roaring fans is back once again.

With 80,000 fans and $955,000 in prize money drawing the best cowboys and cowgirls to our small — but bustling — town, it’s sure a buckle on our belt.

The week-long event has something for the whole family and just for adults as well, from rodeo action and the midway with both gentle rides for the kiddos and adrenaline-pumping thrillers, to concerts and live entertainment.

Start your day off by filling up at one of several pancake breakfasts on offer around town or stop in at one of our local eateries, then check out all the events going on at the Calnash Ag Event Centre or mosey on down to the Wild West Tradeshow for western tack, gift ware, artwork and more.

Then maybe you’ll wander into downtown and take a look at what Ponoka’s unique shops and boutiques have to offer.

After lunch, it’s off to the Stampede Grounds for daily afternoon rodeo performances of rough stock and timed events.

Stick around for evening chuckwagon racing, headline concerts on the Ponoka Stampede main stage, followed by nightly fireworks.
