Rimbey is the place to be this week as the Alberta Women's Championships get underway.
The first draw was Hannah Phillips vs. Elliott Martens at 1:00 p.m, along with Michelle Hartwell vs. Claire Booth, Janais DeJong vs. Nicky Kaufman and Kayleigh Shannon vs. Keelie Duncan.
The second draw at 7:00 p.m. was Kayleigh Shannon vs. Myla Plett, Gracelyn Richards vs. Hannah Phillips, Kayla Skrlik vs. Michelle Hartwell and Robin Silvernagle vs. Janais DeJong.
Despite the bad weather on Jan. 21, over 100 people came out to the Volunteer and Sponsor Appreciation Night, which had lots of fun activities and delicious food.
Dignitaries, sponsors, curlers, Alberta Curling staff and host committee members gathered for a night of fun to introduce the curling teams to the local community sponsors, the mayor and host committee.
Curling is now underway, with many spectators headed to Rimbey for the event.
The winner from the final taking place on Sunday will represent Alberta at the 2025 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Feb. 14
