Lewis Ferere and Friends closed out the Stettler Music in the Park 2023 Season on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Fellow musician Travis Friesen accompanied the Three Hills performer at the West Stettler Park gazebo.

Ferere has spent the last several years playing in a variety of groups such as Rave On and the Rosebud River Valley Boys. Frere also appeared in Stettler back in April, performing with Jenn Beaupre as part of the Stettler Variety Showcase lineup.

Performing with Frere was Travis Friesen of Rosebud. Friesen is also an accomplished musician and actor.

The duo played a variety of songs over the course of the evening. Cover songs ranged from performers such as Stan Rogers, Garth Brooks, Simon and Garfunkle and even Elvis Presley. They also played some of their own music, including a song Friesen had written for his dad, and a comedy song about making fur coats out of road kill. Many of the songs were performed with requests called out from the crowd.

This was the last show of the 2023 Music in the Park Season. Many of the performers in this year’s lineup were local talent such as the Young Guns, and Herle Maggard. Other performers this year included Erin Ross, Harry Hewson, and the local favourites The Jazz Guys.
