The musical stylings of tropical rocker Jimmy Buffett permeated Bashaw’s Majestic Theatre on April 16.

Floridian Jimmy Parrish was in town bringing the community his Buffett tribute show.

Around 60 people attended the evening of music and came away learning more about Buffett and the sub-genre of tropical rock (trop-rock).

In between classical Jimmy Buffett hits like “Five O’clock Somewhere,” which Buffett sang as a duet with Alan Jackson back in the early 2000s, “Boat Drinks,” and “Last Mango,” Parrish highlighted aspects of Buffett’s life.

Parrish noted that during his career, Buffett has sold around 20 million albums and released nearly 40 separate albums

The singer performed two separate sets of around 10 songs each.

Parrish has been performing for nearly 30 years, both solo and with his band.

In addition to Bashaw, Parrish performed in Red Deer, High River, Golden, B.C., and Kamloops, B.C. on his Western Canadian Tour.
