A Celtic Christmas concert takes centre stage for two family concerts Nov. 22 at Stettler Alliance Church.

The Sky Family presents a Celtic dance and Gospel production of Fiery Faith and Fiddles – Prince Edward Island’s premiere Irish dance show in concerts at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

“This is a Christmas show for the whole family,” said pastor Scott Whitford.

Rollicking Celtic fiddles, mixed with Riverdance-style Irish step dance and hilarious skits make up this high-energy show.

All members of the family perform on several instruments and all contribute to the rich vocal harmonies and lively dance.

“It’s family entertainment at it’s best,” said Whitford.

The production consists of two hour-long sets that combine fiddle music with songs rich in harmonies.

“Woven throughout are hilarious stories, skits and inspirational testimonies,” said Whitford.

Young children to grandparents and all ages between will be equally engaged in the high-stepping dance and humorous antics.

All members of the Sky family contribute to the rich vocal harmonies and step dance. Hailing from the north shore of Prince Edward Island [10 minutes from Anne of Green Gables] they uniquely capture the Celtic influence of that region and now have the delight of sharing it with audiences from coast to coast.

As a family the children were home-schooled and on long winter nights honed their musical skills around the fire.

The dance was added at later date and has become the showpiece of their performance.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students available at the Alliance church.
