STETTLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL -- The school year is rapidly drawing to a close, which means we are busy with field trips, track and field events and final exams at Stettler Elementary School. Last Wednesday our Grade 4-6 students participated in the annual track meet. This year saw quite a few records broken, and we are extremely pleased with, and proud of, the students who broke these records as well as all of those who tried their best. We had great participation from many of our students here at the school.

This week it is our Grade 2 and 3 students who will have an opportunity to participate in their track meet. The track and field events for these younger students will take place on Wednesday, June 15, in the gymnasium and on the track field.

As well as taking part in the track meet, our Grade 2 and 3 students will also be completing their swimming lessons this week.

Wednesday, June 15, will also see our Grade 5 students travel to the Kerrywood Nature Centre, where they will celebrate their year-end field trip while learning some new and exciting things at the same time. That same day will mark the beginning of the last four Provincial Achievement Tests that our Grade 6 students will be involved in writing. Students write Part B of their Language Arts exam on Wednesday, followed by Math, Science, and Social Studies on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. After completing all of these exams, our Grade 6 students will be ready for their camping trip at Circle Square Ranch. They will be learning the ropes at camp from Tuesday, June 21 through Friday, June 24. It should be a fun trip and a fabulous learning experience for each of these young people.

With all of these events going on, the school year will be over before we know it. In the meantime we are wishing all students the best of luck during exams and we hope that everyone enjoys their field trips immensely.
