WILDCATS’ CORNER — The football team headed to Calgary to play in tier IV provincial final this past weekend, but unfortunately lost to Bow Valley Bobcats and were awarded silver medals. Basketball has started up and the senior girls have their first game this weekend.
The play this year is called “Almost, Maine.” It is a play about falling in love and falling out of love. The play will be happening from Thursday to Saturday, Dec. 1 – 3. On Friday, Dec. 2 the play will be a dinner theater. Tickets are now on sale at the high school office and at Wells Furniture. During the play “Be The Change” will be having a silent auction. It will run on the “Night of the Bands” as well, and the proceeds will be going towards a local charity. There will be many items from different local businesses in town. The annual “Night of the Bands” will be on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
“Be the Change” and the School Culture Group is doing a tree decorating campaign where every student will be writing nice things onto an ornament. The tree will be up all of December. SADD is doing their annual liquor bag campaign to discourage drinking and driving during the holiday season. GSA is doing a clothing drive for the month of December. Please be sure to bring your used clothes to the school. The Fellowship of Christian Students is having a bake sale every Thursday to fundraise for their trip to Guatemala in July next year.
The Students’ Union wanted to do something for the less fortunate this Christmas season. They will be helping prepare and serve breakfast at the Potter’s Hands Ministries Soup Kitchen in Red Deer on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. Students’ Union will also be hosting Ugly Sweater Day on Friday, Dec. 16, and will be organizing Christmas Fun Day Activities on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
