We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend with activities of their choice. This time of year many folks are busy planting gardens, flowers and other plants.
The windy conditions continued into last week with one southern Alberta rancher reporting it was so windy in fact that he watched a cow give birth to the same calf three times!
Carol Stulberg and Les and Rosemary Stulberg were to Edmonton on Monday to visit Martha Stulberg who has been hospitalized for the past two months with a stroke.
We extend sympathy to the Petrussa and Jones families on the passing of Irene Petrussa at age 74 in Stettler on May 13. Funeral service to be held on May 25 at the Catholic church in Stettler. Irene was a longtime Byemoor resident her recent retirement to Stettler.
Linda Wilkie and her sister along with Tara Schilling and her sister Amy enjoyed a trip to Los Angeles where they were in the studio audience for a taping of the Ellen Degeneres Show. Linda Wilkie’s mother Anne from High River was here to stay with her grandchildren while Linda was away.
Lindsay (nee Tucker) Bowness is off to Europe where she is meeting husband Adam for a holiday while he is on leave from Afghanistan. Adam and Lindsay’s boys are staying with grandparents Glen and Theresa Tucker at Castor. Rather than stay alone in Kingston, Ont. Lindsay and the boys have spent since October with Glen and Theresa while Adam is on his current tour on duty in Afghanistan.
Sympathy is extended to Bernice Zeimer and Carol Stulberg on the death of their sister Mary Smith in Hanna on May 19. She was 82. The funeral was on Tuesday in Hanna.
The kindergarten class had Grandma’s Day on Thursday at the school and were very pleased to have their grandmas present. This year’s kindergarten class is comprised of six boys.
Lee Hunt, Jim and Maureen Wasdal along with Harold Hunt of Olds and Sue Armstrong of Patricia attended the graduation of their granddaughter and niece Janean Paetkau in Hanna on Friday. Janean is the daughter of Reuben and Wilma Paetkau of Gem.
Marty Brooker and Gary and Dave Groat enjoyed a golfing trip to Kamloops, B.C. last week.
