Folks in the district woke up Sunday morning to a heavy blanket of wet snow. It seems Old Man Winter doesn’t want to give up just yet.

A team of floor curlers from the Endmoor club participated in a tournament at The Hub in Stettler on Thursday. Participants included Shirley Bates, Mickey Tucker and Dave and Carol Sisley.

Congratulations to Kevin and Nikki (nee Paulsen) Pivert on the birth of their son Cooper Carl Pivert in Red Deer on April 24. Cooper weighed eight pounds 10 ounces and is a little brother for big sister Elizabeth.

Congratulations also to the local grandparents Brad and Shellbea Paulsen and great-grandma Winnie Paulsen.

Irene Brooker, along with former Endiang residents Shirley Lumsden and Donnie Johnson, were among those who entertained at Paragon Place seniors’ lodge in Stettler last Tuesday. The residents thoroughly enjoyed their music.

Construction has begun at the James farm on the basement for Travis and Tanis’ new house. It is an exciting time for the young couple as they await their new home.

Sunday was a busy day for baby showers. Dara Hallett and wee son Rowen were showered with baby gifts Sunday afternoon at Grandma Dee Green’s home by many friends and family members.

Mom-to-be Jordanna Christie also received many baby gifts for her expected baby at a shower held in Stettler on Sunday. Several friends and family attended the gathering.

The Endiang district will soon be welcoming a new family. Rob and Sherry Carlgren have sold their acreage to a young family from Rosalind.

Adam and Paige Jones along with their children Rylee, Rowdy and Memphis are enjoying a visit from Paige’s father David Eager from Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia.

The local floor curlers will be winding up another season on May 5 with a potluck dinner at the Endiang Hall. This will complete 32 years of floor curling in Endiang. In the earlier years the game was called disking as the wooden disks had no handles. This long-running sport has involved many people and brought much enjoyment over those years.

The club has hosted many tournaments and Endiang has always been a popular spot with its hospitality and good hardwood floor for curling.
