We are quite a busy community

Tuesday, July 7, the STARS committee of the Rumsey Ag. Society held a meeting in the lobby of the Agriplex, the Rumsey Ag. Society held their meeting in the lounge of the Agriplex and the Rumsey Fire Dept. held their regular meeting in the fire hall. Now that’s what I call a busy community.

Members of the Ag. Society were busy planning the ball tournament which will be held July 17-19.

The STARS committee was planning the 20th annual trail ride for STARS to be held Sunday, August 9 at the TL bar ranch on the Red Deer river, east of Trochu, on Highway 585.

The rain that fell this week was certainly welcomed, a little late but surely welcomed.

I would like to thank everyone for their concerns and phone calls the next day asking about my poor head as I banged it a good one when a chair collapsed for me during the refreshment time after the shower. I’m fine but I didn’t know there were so many places to hurt. Must be a sign of old age. Nooooooo!

The Morrin Bethany Lutheran church are having their vacation Bible school on July 20-23, daily from 9 to 11:30 a.m. There will be snack provided and there will lots of fun with bible stories, games, and lots of singing. Leaders are needed for this school so if you can spare the time, call 772-2293 or 772-3864.Your volunteerism would be very rewarding.

Best wishes from the community to Chris Warner and Raeanne Halfkenny as they plan their wedding for Saturday July 18th.

The Storch family held their annul family reunion in the Rumsey community hall on Sunday, July 5 with 53 family members attending. I don’t think there is any other family that has such a good time as the Storch family. They are a very fun loving group.

Coming up soon is the Big Valley homecoming, July 31 through the weekend.
