Warm weather helped Christmas shoppers

We have enjoyed a brief warm-up this week which saw many out and about getting ready for Christmas.

We have enjoyed a brief warm-up this week which saw many out and about getting ready for Christmas.

Iona Berg celebrated her birthday, Dec. 15, the last cold, blustery day, at Heart Haven Lodge with daughter Paulette and Percy Heer coming for dinner. Iona served birthday cake to the residents and staff then enjoyed several friends popping in to wish her well in the afternoon, with more cake and coffee, pictures and gifts and lots of visiting. Happy birthday, Iona.

The birthday continued into the next day at the home of Delores Duris where the remaining eight ladies of the Gadsby friends and neighbours held their annual Christmas tea. They are in need of new members to keep the tradition alive.

On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Scott and Mary Beth from Fort Saskatchewan, Kenny and Kayla and Jim and Ethel Baird enjoyed an early Christmas at the home of Kevin and Diane Baird.

Westwoods held their annual meeting earlier this month. The executive remains: president, Les Kneeland; vice-president, Aleta Cassidy; treasurer, Debbie Shepherd and secretary, Ethel Baird. Keep up the good job folks!

Vivian would like to invite everyone to the Botha United Church Dec. 24. Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. and remind everyone there will be no service Dec. 27.

I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very merry and safe Christmas and a great holiday time.
