Volunteers needed for diamonds

I hope that kids and parents alike are enjoying this spring break from school. Kids return to school Monday.

There was a house fire in Botha this weekend. The fire started in the attached garage on Saturday taking a large portion of the house with it. No one was injured in the fire.

The Village and Community Centre will be working hard this April (weather permitting) on the ball diamonds. As reported earlier, the plan entails removal of the two diamonds, replacing it with a regulation size diamond and adding more camping spaces. The enhancement of the area will also include planting of a number of trees that have already been purchased by the village.

If you would like to volunteer please contact Ryan at 403 742 2559.

The Botha Senior Centre continues with carpet bowling Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. and floor curling Thursdays at 7 p.m. They will be hosting Bingo on March 30, the doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This is a ham bingo just in time for Easter, everyone is welcome.

The Old Time Dance Club will be kickin’ it up Sunday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. to the sounds of Memory Makers from Medicine Hat; be sure to check them out.

There will only be a few more dances this season before summer break.

The Botha United church is now holding worship at 9 a.m. on Sundays; this will continue through June with Reverend Susan Bowyer presiding.

That’s it for Botha this week.

Have a great day.
