Visiting drama troupe wowed Christ King students

Kathy Covert and her drama troupe from Millar College of the Bible paid a visit to the students and staff of Christ King School on the afternoon of Friday, April 30. This group of young adults from Pambrun, Saskatchewan wowed us with an hour long performance called “Unlikely Heroes”.

What a fun performance - Christ King School students were very much entertained by the outstanding Millar College Bible Troupe presentation.

Singing, dancing, and audience participation had us in stitches while we learned about Old Testament heroes like Moses, Noah, Joseph, David and Goliath, and Gideon. As one enthusiastic student proclaimed during the question and answer period, “I loved it!” Well put, Paige.

Preparations for the upcoming elementary track meet are well underway. We’re excited to be hosting Brownfield School, Halkirk (Mother Teresa School), and Castor (Theresetta and Gus Wetter) on May 26. Practices are starting for the Division Track Meet in Wainwright for grade 4-9 on June 1. Approximately 20 students will be participating.

We have launched our annual Pennies for Patients fundraising campaign and it will be running for one more week. Students bring donations to participate in fun activities like making words and eating jello contest, a rock-paper- scissors tournament and rock band. If students reach their goal of raising $1200.00 by the end of the week, they’ll see their teachers stuck on the roof.

Congratulations to First Communion recipients Madison Jarmin, Lowell Van Straten, Jaxsyn Willms and Connor Wyness.

Some reminders: Parent-council meeting on Monday, May 10 at 7 p.m. and Provincial Achievement Test time is upon us. Remember the importance of eating healthy and getting a good night’s sleep.
