The community Potluck Supper is coming up at the Endiang Community Hall on Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to join in; bring your favourite dish and enjoy a visit with your neighbours.

Want a voice in shaping the future of your community regarding development and by-laws?

The County of Stettler is opening its Municipal Development Plan (MDP) and Land Use By-laws (LUB) for review and invites the public to share their input at a series of open houses across the County. There is an open house at the Byemoor Community Hall on Oct. 30 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Come for a coffee and sweets and share your input.

Miquel Zarco, Endiang’s newest resident, has returned from a trip to Spain where he enjoyed visiting with his friend Montse and family at Llorenc del Penedes. He also visited Barcelona.

Janet Campbell and her daughter Joni Hutton attended the 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration for Ed and Marilyn Palmer at St. Paul on Oct. 26. The 26th was their actual anniversary date and Ed celebrated his 75th birthday the day before. Ed and Marilyn used to live in Byemoor.

Ed was the last elevator agent in Byemoor for the Alberta Wheat Pool when the rail line was closed in October 1983. Congratulations to Ed and Marilyn on their special milestone.

Bob Campbell joined some friends on a trip to Seattle to take in two NHL hockey games and one NFL football game. They returned on Oct. 28.

Mark your calendars for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox packing get-together on Nov. 16 at the Endiang Community Hall beginning at 1:30 p.m.

This annual event is organized by the Church at Endiang and helps less fortunate children from around the world make their Christmas a little brighter. Bring suitable items for the shoe boxes and items are also being collected for the Stettler and District Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) to help out local families as well.

Byemoor Santa Day and Christmas Market are coming up on Nov. 30 and its time to get your tables booked for the Christmas market. Book your table early to avoid disappointment by contacting Doreen Nixon at 403-579-2460. The market runs from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.; Sleigh Rides run from 1 – 3 p.m. and Santa arrives at 2 p.m. to meet the children, give candy bags and photo opportunities.

The Byemoor / Big Valley Bandits U11 team hosted the Bashaw U11 team on Oct. 27 at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor.

Happy Birthday greetings are sent to these seniors: Alf Woelk – 83 – Oct. 25, Al Copeland – 85 – Oct. 30 and Joyce (nee Walker) Moore – 92 – Oct. 31.

Daylight Saving Time is ending so remember to “fall back” and set your clocks back one hour. Daylight Saving Time officially ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.
