Too much rain spoiled the hay in Erskine

The nice hay crop that was cut a few weeks ago has now turned in nothing better than potato chips for the cows to eat; no nutritional value left in it at all. One might just as well call it straw. The garden, on the other hand, looks fairly good albeit a couple of weeks behind because of lack of sunshine. I hope most missed the hail that hit last week. This is the first year that we didn’t need to bring the sprinkler out and water it.

Thanks to all volunteers who helped out with the casino fundraiser for Erskine Rec Board. The money raised goes to help put on fun events, keep the rink, playground and the club rooms in great shape and scholarships.

The Erskine Evangelical Free Church’s vacation Bible camp has been scheduled for the last week in August. Watch for more details in the coming weeks.

Our condolences are sent to the families of Gerhart Haustein and Bob Clarkson, who passed away these past couple of weeks. Their families have been long time residents of Nevis and Erskine.
