Is it just me or does time seem to be flying by quicker than before?

I know that scientifically this is not possible but my perception of time seems to have sped up quite significantly. With time flying, the Stettler Public Library really doesn’t want you to miss out on any of the wonderful programs and events that we have happening every day.

Check out what’s happening in the next week and register before all the spaces are filled.

It’s not too late to get in on tonight’s Yoga Nidra, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. via Zoom. Yoga Nidra is a practice that anyone can do. Lie down, get comfy and let the dulcet voice of Alicia Tate bring you to a state of sleepy bliss.

Don’t worry if you fall asleep because we will keep our cameras and microphones off and the session will automatically disconnect when it ends. Call now to get the Zoom link.

Kids Coding Club is back on Sat, Feb. 26 at 10:30 a.m. and noon for computing fun for kids ages 6 and up. This month we continue our focus on creating backgrounds and sprites for the games we are coding in Scratch. Space is limited so please preregister.

Kids enjoy nothing more than really silly stories and it’s even better when they get to make them up.

Something Cool After School is going to tap into the children’s silliness on Tues, March. 1 and Thurs, March. 3 at 4 p.m. for Super Silly Stories. Laughter is guaranteed for ages 6 and up while we play some super random and hilarious story games. Registration is required.

It’s Boba Night during Teen Scene on Wed, March 2 at 6 p.m.

Don’t know what boba is? It’s another term for bubble tea and tweens and teens aged 10 and up are going to get to try boba. If you haven’t tried boba before, you are in for a treat and you will get to create your own flavour. Register early because space is limited.

Kids ages 6 and up will want to get on the Brain Train on Sat, March 5 at 10:30 a.m. and noon for a chance to play with Snap Circuits. This is a great way to learn about how circuits work by making your own. It can be electrifying! Register today!

Our next Film Circuit showing at the Jewel Theatre is going to whet your appetite for French cuisine and the woman who brought it into your homes.

Julia tells the story of the legendary cookbook author and television superstar, Julia Child.

Child is credited with changing the way we think about food and television and she is absolutely fascinating to boot! Join us at the Jewel Theatre on Mon, March 7 and Thu, March 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Library until the Saturday before the show. If you prefer, pick one up at the door on the night of the show.

Our next installment of Adult Gaming at the Jewel Theatre happens on Wednesday, March 9 at the Jewel Theatre.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the games start at 7 p.m. Bring your phone as you will need it to join in the fun.

Grab a hot dog and a drink at the concession and join us for a couple hours of trivia and other fun games on the big screen. And there are prizes! Admission is by donation so bring a friend for a fun night out.

For information about any of our programs, or to register for events, call the Library at 403-742-2292.

If you need help with technology, printing, scanning or faxing we can assist.

If you are looking for that next great page turner, movie or even for information about different services and organizations in the community stop by or call us and we can help you out. Don’t forget to check out our website (spl.prl.ab.ca) for other services and events coming up and follow us on Facebook for the latest news and other fun stuff!
