Time is running out for submitting recipes for cookbook

The weather was nice and warm this year for Halloween and there were many little trick or treaters out and about on Saturday evening enjoying the fun.

The Byemoor 4-H Beef Club will be having their weigh-in day on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Yates ranch.

If there are any other youngsters out there interested in entering a calf project they may contact leader Lorna Schilling at 884-2463 for more information.

The community extends sympathy to Jane Kobi and family on the passing of Jane’s mother Bettie Simpson at Drayton Valley on Oct 27. Ed and Bettie Simpson and their family were one-time Endiang residents when Ed worked for the Searle Grain Co. here as an elevator agent.

The Endiang Centennial Committee wishes to relay this reminder that the deadline for getting recipes into the centennial cookbook is fast approaching.

If you have roots at Endiang please contribute a few of your favourite family recipes. It is the goal to have as many families represented as possible that live or have ever lived at Endiang. Send your recipes to Sharon McCrindle at Box 123, Byemoor, AB T0J 0L0 or Rosemary Stulberg at Box 308, Endiang, AB T0J 1G0 before Nov. 30.

A recent visitor with Kirk and Twila Buchwitz, Ryder and Bronc, was Twila’s mom Sandi Hodgson from Melfort, Sask. Sandi was here for Bronc’s first birthday.

We extend sympathy to Rob and Laurie Somerville and family on the passing of Laurie’s uncle, Jack Poole, who passed away in Vancouver on Oct. 23 at the age of 76 years.

Mr. Poole was the chairman of the Vancouver Olympic committee and also worked for Gulf Oil in Stettler at one time.

Weekend visitors with the Schellenbergs were Crystal Schellenberg and Will Oickle as well as Will’s mother Judy Oickle and his sisters Jessica Oickle and Dawn McEwan visiting from Nova Scotia.

Don, Michelle and Julia Thompson have moved to their new acreage, the former Marilyn Boehlke place. We hope you enjoy your new location.

Sharon McCrindle spent a week at Carlyle, Sask. taking care of her grandchildren while their parents Earl and Vicki Flynn were off to Las Vegas to attend a wedding.

Guests of Bill and Linda Smith are their daughter Kristy Smith and her friend Claire Hamilton visiting from England. They will be in Alberta for about a month visiting family and friends.

Several folks from our community took in the Halkirk community’s turkey supper on Sunday evening.
