Third annual community guide being put together with new name as a business directory

DONALDA DIARY

Condolences go out to the Mueller and Gebhardt families after the tragic death of Norbert Mueller, Andy and Jarrett Gebhardt while snowmobiling at Golden, B.C. on the week-end. The fourth member of the party Travis Mueller was rescued from the avalanche. There was a candle memorial at the Family Day events at the Ski Hill on Monday in their memory.

Donalda is a very busy community and has much to offer, so as a resident, get involved and bring a visitor to be entertained at the many functions happening.

Donalda Ducks Unlimited fourth annual Banquet and auction is being held on February 26 at 5:30. Call Amanda Holden for tickets at 403-883-2686.

Wednesday evening Bingo at the drop in at 7:30 on March 2 and every second Wednesday after that.

The Donalda Coulee Friendship Club is again holding their Shrove Pancake Supper on Tuesday. March 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the drop-in centre. Remember they serve pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream as well as eggs and sausages.

Come out and support these events as it helps pay the expenses to keep the centre open.

The Donalda & District Community Promotion Society is busily putting together the third annual community guide. Each year of publication, the guide has undergone changes. This year the guide will be undergoing a name change and will now be called Donalda Community Tourism and Business Directory. This will enable the guide to stand out better at the tourist centers.

There is a new, not-for profit organization in the Donalda/Bashaw area. Donalda Animal Rescue will be doing just that, rescuing and re-homing abandoned, unwanted and stray animals. Foster Homes welcome. For more info phone 403-883-2521 or 403-883-2870.

Congratulations to Murray Norman, Dean Norman, Bev Salmon and Teresa Donald who celebrated birthdays this past week.
