If fitness is your passion, the library has many resources from how-to books to work-out videos to help you on your way.
Not only that, but we circulate two family passes to our patrons for the Recreation Center located on the first floor of our building. Why not call today to reserve the day pass, or the one-week pass, all at no charge with your free library membership?
These passes are in hot demand, so plan ahead for the dates when you’d like to make use of them.
Give your child(ren) the gift of language by introducing them early to stories, songs, and fun activities. Read & Rhyme happens for parents and tots (0-5 years) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a free app to keep track of your family reading. Download it and receive small prizes at the library as you progress toward your goals.
At Something Cool After School on Thu, April 6 at 4 p.m. we’ll be solving the problem of how best to drop an egg from a height without breaking it. On Tue, April 11 at 4 p.m. get your speed on and play a Minute to Win It. Then on Thu, April 13, you get to make your own bouncy balls!
Individualized instruction is one of the best ways to foster academic learning progress. We offer free one-on-one tutoring after school hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Call for more information and to book an appointment.
Teens & ’Tweens:
Add together a few rocks, some wire, and some beads for decoration and you’ll soon have a holder for your favourite photos. Join us Wed, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. Ages 10+.
We’re starting a club to explore the world of Anime on Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m. Laugh, snack, and make friends while we watch Anime. Ages 14+
Minds in Motion Lite is a program designed by the Alzheimer’s Society for those experiencing mild to moderate mental decline. Join us Thursdays at 2 p.m. for games and activities in a relaxed social setting. The full Minds in Motion program which includes an hour of physical fitness prior to games and such will be starting again on Thu, April 20 at 1 p.m. Call the library for more information or to register.
Afternoon Friends is a friendly gathering of adults to socialize with games, movies, and crafts which takes place every Tuesday at 1 p.m. On April 11, we’ll enjoy a movie matinee. Then on April 18, we’ll play everyone’s favourite game—Bingo!
Monday nights are online gaming nights for ages 13 and up at 8 p.m. Call the library for the link and join our chat from home. Everyone welcome.
Exercise your mind to its full capacity by learning to play the time-honoured game of chess, at Chess Club on Sat, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
