2022 starts off with a jam-packed January at the Stettler Public Library.

Activities for people of all ages can be found at your community library; just another reminder that the Stettler Public Library is more than books.

Brain Train starts 2022 going full steam ahead on Jan. 8 at 10:30 a.m. or noon when the kids will get a chance to build their own paper flyer!

We will be moving beyond airplanes to create, test, and race different kinds of paper flyers!

The kids (ages 6 and up) who participate in Something Cool After School on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. will have the opportunity to create something wonderful every week!

On Jan. 11 and 13 the kids will create their very own unique key chain using polymer clay.

Make it, bake it, and take it home!

The teens get a chance to create something new out of old books during Teen Scene on Jan. 12 at 6 p.m.

We have the books, you bring the vision, and we will create amazing things together. Kids ages 10 and up are invited to register.

It’s the time of year where everyone sets out to be better to ourselves and the ones around us.

The Stettler Public Library can help you with that with our monthly Mindfulness session with Alicia Tate on Jan. 11 at 7 p.m.

Get comfy at home and join Alicia via Zoom to learn about incorporating mindfulness into your life.

Crystal’s Crafting Club will be getting into woodworking, without the nails, on Jan. 13 when the take-home kit will be available.

This kit will have the wood that you need to build mini pallet coasters (the wood being Popsicle sticks).

Then watch the library’s Facebook page to get the video instructions on how to build your coasters.

Kits are limited; call the library to reserve yours today.

The Stettler Public Library and the Jewel Theatre are partnering to bring you Adult Game Night at the Jewel Theatre.

What a better way to spend a Wednesday night than playing games on the big screen with us!

Admission is by donation and the concession will be open for a night filled with fun!

Are you interested in playing role playing games?

Why not join Shaunzy on Saturday Jan. 8 and 15 at 1 p.m. to play Dungeons and Dragons.

Build your own character, enjoy some snacks and save the world on a Saturday afternoon.

Bring your own dice if you have them, if not, we will have some dice to share. Space is limited. This event is geared towards ages 15 and up.

You need to put January 27 on your calendar!

Why? Because we will be celebrating Family Literacy Day with Read for 15.

Read together or on your own, everything counts!

You can read anything: your emails, your Facebook feed, the newspaper, or a book.

Report your minutes by calling the Library and help us come out on top in the Reading Battle of Alberta!

Joining us for a bedtime story time for families at 6 pm that night will also count.

Space is limited for most sessions, so call early to avoid missing out.

Call the Stettler Public Library at 403-742-2292 to pre-register for all sessions.

That is all for this week but there is some much happening at the Stettler Public Library during the month of January that you don’t want to miss out on anything.
