It’s amazing what you can do with Lego! And Something Cool After School is going to explore the wonders of this incredible toy when we compete in a Lego Challenge!
Join us on Feb. 1 or Feb. 3, 2022, at 4 p.m. for one of the most intense challenges ever devised by the staff of the Stettler Public Library.
Well, it probably isn’t true but I really wanted to say it! Kids ages 6 and up can get in on the challenge; call today to book your spot!
For teens and ‘tweens ages 10 and up we offer Teen Scene. Come to the Stettler Public Library on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. for a fun night of crafts, games and friendship. Our next evening of fun happens Feb. 2 when you will get to create your own parliament of owls.
Yes, a group of owls is called a parliament.
You will get a hoot out of this night of crafting!
Kids Coding Club will be riding on the Brain Train on Jan. 29, with sessions at 10:30 a.m. or noon.
Using Scratch, a free online resource for children, the kids will develop problem solving skills, critical thinking and creativity as they create their own video games and stories! Get in on the fun today by calling the Library because spaces are limited.
Brain Train pulls into the station again on Feb. 5 at 10:30 a.m. or noon when the kids (ages 6 and up) will make their own robotic arm to extend their reaching power. Once the robotic arms are built, the kids will practice using them to grab different objects. Spaces are limited; call the Library to reserve your spot today.
Are you a gamer? Join us online for our Monday night tournaments with Rocky Mountain House Public Library.
All gaming nights and tournaments are drop-in and completely free, even if you aren’t from Stettler or Rocky!
You will need to be signed up with the Nintendo Switch Online service to participate in the Nintendo online games and the night starts at 8 p.m. Call the Library and ask for Shaunzy for more information or message us on Facebook.
If you always wanted to join a gang, why don’t you join a book club? Because a book club is a gang of people that love to talk about books.
Reader’s Circle is the Library’s book gang and you have plenty of time to get and read the book My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman in time for our next meeting on Tuesday, February 22nd at 6:30 pm.
We have been meeting on Zoom, but if restrictions are lifted will meet again in person. Call the Library to register.

Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street goes inside the hearts and minds of Sesame Street creators, artists and educators who established one of the most influential and enduring children’s series in television history.
Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Library until Saturday, February 5.
After that you can pick one up at the Jewel Theatre. This is a rescheduling of our October showing, if you have tickets or passes for the October showing they will be honoured at these showings. Let’s all do the Pigeon in celebration!
