A carload of tourists stopped at the Snack Shack last week and some of the group were from Halkirk in northern Scotland. They believed that some of their relatives lived/worked in town when the first hotel was constructed. They were pleased to receive a Halkirk pin as a souvenir.

Vera Airey is home again having accompanied daughter Roxine on a trip to the Maritimes where she visited with grandchildren. Unfortunately Vera is limping around after a slip while on holidays.
Keith and Abbi Muncy and family from Midland, Texas are visiting with Keith’s parents, Ken and Kathy. Last weekend, the whole family gathered to enjoy their annual fishing trip at Buffalo Lake.
Hilda deMos from Holland is in Canada visiting family. She spent this week with John and Judy.
Lorie Kean and daughters Kelly and Lindsey from Nanimo, BC are visiting with Lori’s mom, Leona Robertson. They took in a couple of days of the Stampede.
Donna Matier from Grande Prairie spent several days in town with her mom Audrey Thomson, who is recovering from eye surgery.
JD and Sandra Johnson and girls are visiting with JD’s sisters, Kim and Darrell Macki and girls and Kandace and Scott Morrison and Forbes in Vancouver this week.
Tanya Bunbury from Red Deer is visiting with her parents, Ross and Sheryl Bunbury. Tanya will return to her teaching job at Lindsey Thurber school in September.
