Summer is gone in Big Valley, back to school

It is incredible how quickly the summer of 2010 seemed to pass us by as we impatiently waited for warm weather to get here. Though lawns are lush and so much greener than they have been in years, the sunshine was in such short supply, most of us have the sensation that summer has yet to arrive.

All of a sudden the leaves are beginning to change colour and many of us are already turning on our furnaces to ward off the cold nights. The tourist season here in Big Valley is beginning to wind down with the train schedule reduced to three times per week. Though difficult to accept, the kids are back at school, marking the end of summer vacation and the return to regularly scheduled programming.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all the newcomers to Big Valley. We are happy you have decided to make our little village your new home. Welcome to our little corner of the world.
