Students celebrate the Holy Week

After a much enjoyed spring break, we are back in full swing at Christ-King. This week, as the 40 days of Lent draw to a close, we will be learning more about Jesus’ last days on earth.

After a much enjoyed spring break, we are back in full swing at Christ-King.

This week, as the 40 days of Lent draw to a close, we will be learning more about Jesus’ last days on earth. On Tuesday, March 30, the Grade 1 and 2 class will lead us in celebrating the beginning of Holy Week, remembering Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem in order to complete His saving work as our Messiah. On Holy Thursday, the Grade 5 and 6 class will help us to focus on the events of the Last Supper. Next week, when we return from Easter break, we will celebrate His glorious resurrection.

In other news, grade 1-6 students joined Mother Teresa students in Halkirk on Monday, March 29 to learn about music and created a song together. Classes are also busy getting music festival selections ready for the end of the month.

We are very excited that our school’s renovations are nearing completion and we invite you to come and see our “new” school.

Mark these days on your calendar: April 12 and April 19. Our kindergarten information and registration meeting will be on April 12 at 6 p.m. for all parents of children who will be five years of age before December 31. Our “Small Steps Pre-Kindergarten” program information and registration meeting will be held on April 19 at 6 p.m. If your child will be four before December 31, 2010, you are welcome to consider our program. Children with special needs may qualify for funded programs. Everyone is welcome.
