Stettler’s fireworks was really something to watch - Gadsby/Westwoods

Happy New Year!

Hats off to Stettler for the colourful display of fireworks shortly after midnight, Jan. 1.

Percy and I sat in our front room and watched the show, almost 20 miles east. It was great.

Still working on Christmas news.

Vic and Barb Carey hosted their family Christmas on Dec. 19 with son Wes, Leasyl, and Lincoln, and daughter Joanna, Taylor, Victoria and Jonah all home.

Then on Christmas Day, Vic and Barb motored to Red Deer to Barb’s brother Wayne and Gretha Ganshirt.

Joanna and family joined them there as well as Wayne and Gretha’s daughter Kerrie and Jason Dalstra, Raya and new baby boy Rhyker who was born Nov. 4.

Jason’s parents Fred and Bea and his sister and brother and wife and their three children were all there as well.

Wes and Leasyl Carey and Lincoln spent Christmas Day with Leasyl’s sister Rachelle and family in Stettler.

Frank and Betty Hadwin had a quiet Christmas Day with friends, Donna and Lexxie MacKay for the day.

That evening, daughter Margaret and her three daughters Christyn, Alyssa and Jenna came from Rimbey to stay.

On Boxing Day, daughter Janet and Dale came from Tomahawk and daughter Mary and Aaron came from Provost along with their son Justin and daughter Kaitlyn and her boyfriend Chance.

Doreen Reynolds enjoyed Christmas Day with her daughter Jody and Keith Stewart in Stettler.

Everyone was home Christmas and Boxing Day at John and Jean Ross including sons Bill, Tommy and Joanne from Edmonton, son Mike and Chrissy and their son Ryan from Millet as well as son Jack and Melanie and their family James and Emile.

Get-well wishes to Russell Fisher who is recuperating at home from a heart attack and was unable to spend holiday time with John and Jean and was truly missed.

Bill and Joyce Hansel had a fun time at son Larry and Erica’s.

They arrived Dec. 30 and there were 16 family members together to enjoy a late Christmas with gift opening, food, games and lots of laughter.

Bill and Joyce enjoyed their grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and everyone stayed overnight at Larry and Erica’s.

They returned home New Year’s Day and were happy to avoid driving home in the heavy snowfall Sunday.

Daughter Brenda Laboucan of Slave Lake and her son Tyler and Brenda’s three grandchildren came to Frank and Eleanor Dahlgren’s for the week after Christmas.

It was nice to have a quiet week of visiting.

Frank and Eleanor spent New Year’s Day with Bonnie and Dwayne and family, enjoying a New Year’s supper with them.

Iona Berg had daughter Paulette and Percy Heer, along with Jeanne Beisel in for New Year’s Day dinner at Heart Haven Lodge in Stetter and an afternoon of playing Canasta.

(Iona and Paulette now have bragging rights.)

Wilma Glasier was out to the farm once again to enjoy a family day with Wayne and Margery, Doug and Kay and son Harvey and Barb Glasier who joined them from Dawson Creek, B.C.
