If your upcoming long weekend involves a road trip, don’t forget to pick out a few audio books to make the miles fly by.

The library has a wide variety of them, from suspense to mystery, on CD and through the e-library. Be sure to check some out for your next commute or vacation travel.

And if you’re stuck at home in hot weather, come on into our spacious library where the ambience is cool and so are the books, DVDs, computer games, magazines…

Kids:

Kids are cooking up a storm at the ever-popular Thursday afternoon Cooking Club. Registration for these sessions fills up fast, so be sure to call Thursday morning at 10 a.m. to register for the following week’s session.

Summer Reading Club has plenty of creative and fun activities planned and it is not too late to sign up. Register kids aged 5-8 for Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Youth aged 9 and up should sign up for Monday and Tuesday afternoons at 2:30.

Get set to get soaked at this week’s Family Water Extravaganza at the Stettler Spray Park, Fri, July 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. Come prepared with your own water weapons or use the sponges we’ll provide. All ages.

Bring your little ones aged 0-5 to Story and Play Time every Friday through July and August at West Stettler Park at 10:30 a.m. Some activities will be messy so come wearing play clothes! In poor weather, we’ll meet at the Library instead. Follow our Facebook page for updates. Read and Rhyme will continue in the library on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. throughout the summer.

Adults:

Join Alicia Tate for Yoga in the Grass, on the SRC lawn Thur, July 28 at 7 p.m. Bring your own mat, water bottle and whatever else you need to be comfortable. Call the library for more information.

True yarn addicts don’t abandon their art because of a little hot weather. Crystal’s Crochet Club meets again Sat, July 30 at 1 p.m. Come with your latest project or simply show up and we’ll get you started on your very first crochet project. All ages are welcome. Call the library for more information.

Conversation Café is a fun, relaxed opportunity for English learners to practice language skills over a cup of coffee or tea. Join us Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. All levels are welcome.

Adults looking to meet others for a variety of fun activities should join the Afternoon Friends, Thursdays at 1 p.m. We have crafts, games, and other fun activities specially planned for you.

Summer is the perfect time to hone your technology skills. Our resident tech expert is available by appointment on Saturdays from 1-6 p.m. to help you navigate your smart phone or other devices. He can also teach you to use our digital conversion equipment and software to update slides and videotapes.

We can also clean and buff your scratched and dirty CDs, DVDs, or video games at the library for $2/disc.

If your plans for summer include giving your resume a revamp, our experienced employment support person is available on Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. to help. Call for an appointment.

For more information about services and resources available to you at the library drop by for a tour or call 403-742-2292. We hope to see you soon.
