Have you heard about the Christmas Wine Survivor Fundraiser being put on by the Stettler Friends of the Library? Well let me tell you about it. Come to the library armed with a bottle of wine (minimum wine value $15). Then join us for the Elimination Party on Dec. 8 at 7:30 pm (it is not necessary to attend the party to win but really who doesn’t want to party). The last person standing wins 30 per cent of the wine collected. You will be ready for Christmas, New Year’s and a quiet night at home. Proceeds will purchase children’s play equipment at the library. Tickets are on sale now and rules are posted on the Stettler Public Library’s website (spl.prl.ab.ca).

Teen Scene is back on Nov. 16 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Everyone 13 and over can come and make a paracord keychain. Bring your friends because more is merrier!

Nov. 17 starts over with Cooking Club at 10:30 a.m. We will remember the past by baking gingernut cookies like the children who lived during World War II. You must pre-register for this program by calling the library at 403-742-2292. For ages 6 and up.

Our next Super Smash Brothers Tournament is Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. Come and challenge your friends and duke it out as your favourite Nintendo character. All ages welcome.

Join us for a Friday Afternoon Movie Matinee on Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. Join us for the wonderful musical “The Greatest Showman” starring Hugh Jackman, Zach Effron, and Michelle Williams. Yes, Wolverine can sing! More importantly, popcorn will be served.

We have copies of our book selection for our next book club discussion. Join us on Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. as we discuss the book “Brother” by David Chariandy. Meet up with some like-minded new friends! Tea and coffee will be served because you can’t have a great conversation without a cuppa.
