The Stettler Trade Show is returning from Fri, April 8 to Sun, April 10 and the Stettler Public Library team is looking forward to seeing everyone at the show.

We hope that you will drop by to say hello to our wonderful team and fill out a quick survey for a chance to win some incredible library swag.

We will have the VR set up for the young (and young at heart) and hope to unveil our new Plan of Service for 2022-2026 there.

The Friends of the Library’s Giant Book Sale is back too!

Make some time to visit the Library when you come to the Trade Show.

The book sale will run Fri, April 8 and Sat, April 9.

Visit the Trade Show and stop in to the Library to pick up some great reads.

Why not start your spring cleaning by making room on your shelves for new books?

We would love to receive donations of your gently-used books and DVDs (no encyclopedias or textbooks, please).

We are collecting donations until Sat, April 2. Your support of the library is phenomenal and is a big part of the reason we are able to offer so many great programs!

I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream! Join us for ice cream at Something Cool After School on Tue, March 22 and Thur, March 24 at 4 p.m.

There is a catch: you will have to make your own frosty treat! Learn how to make ice cream in a bag. We will bring the sprinkles! Space is limited; register today.

Do you remember Pac-man? That wonderful video game with the little yellow chomping mouth eating pellets while trying not to be caught by ghosts.

Kids Coding Club is going to tackle this wonderful game by creating their own version on Sat, March 26 at 10: 30 a.m. and 12 p.m.

We will code as much as we can but might have to finish this project at the next coding club in April. Please call the Library to reserve your spot. For ages 6 and up.

The teens and ‘tweens will be creating with every crafter’s must-have on Wed, March 23 at 6 p.m.

We are talking about popsicle sticks! Create something really cute because crafting with popsicle sticks is always the bomb! For ages 10 and up. Call the Library to register today.

Space: the final frontier! Our next Reader’s Circle selection is a science fiction offering by the author of The Martian. Andy Weir’s Project Hail Mary finds Ryland Grace waking up on a spaceship with no memory.

He soon learns he is the only survivor on a desperate mission to save Earth. Reviews have been very good for this title, if you liked The Martian, you will probably love this one too! Pick up a copy at the library and join us on Tue, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. for a lively discussion.

Are you wanting to write the next great Canadian novel? Join us on Thur, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. with other like-minded people to share your writing and provide support in the form of feedback to others. All you need is paper, a pencil, and your imagination. Call the Library for more information.

Here is another idea for a quiet, solitary way to pass the time. Listen to the calming voice of Alicia Tate as she leads you in Yoga Nidra on Thur, March 24 at 8 p.m.

Join us via Zoom (you can leave the camera off if you wish). We will automatically disconnect you from the session at the end, so no worries if you fall asleep.

Yes, Alicia is that good! Call the Library today to register and we will send you the Zoom link.

Spring is quickly approaching and with it, thoughts of spring cleaning and new beginnings.

Why not give your resume a spring cleaning too? Call to book an appointment with our volunteer resource person on Thursdays between 1-3 p.m. With over 30 years of experience in the field of employment supports, Gail will be sure to provide you with lots of helpful advice. Take a late lunch and come to the library!

For information about any of our programs or to register for events, call the Library at 403-742-2292.

If you are looking for assistance with technology, finding that next great page turner, movie, or information about different services and organizations in the community, stop by or call us and we can help you out.

Don’t forget to check out our website (spl.prl.ab.ca) for other services and events coming up and follow us on Facebook for the latest news and other fun stuff!
