Spirit of Winter Olympic Games at Stettler Middle School

Stettler Middle School held a big ceremony on Feb. 12 to light the SMS torch to declare the Olympic SMS Games open.

On Feb. 16, the SMS Olympic games started. Every student was able to participate in different Olympic events.

The events take place during lunch and are part of the intramural program. Some of the events are: curling, biathlon, hockey, and bobsleigh.

The HEaRT program ran four weeks of building water rockets with students from the middle school, elementary school, and Christ King.

The highest one went 60 feet. 21 students participated.

They all had a great time.

The School REACH went to Ponoka and got third place in the competition.

They will be going again on Feb. 25 of on March 11.

The CARA (Clearview school division) basketball tournament is on Feb. 27.

Teachers’ convention will be on March 4 and 5.
