Stettler Elementary School had many opportunities to show off their talents during the week.

Mrs. Sandra Norman’s kindergarten class put on a presentation of the Little Red Hen. Students were excited to showcase their singing and acting skills during as they presented this musical number to their families.

The Choral Speech club presented dinner theatre this week, where students were able to come down over the lunch hour to see presentations. The choral speech club had been working on their pieces for several months, and also presented them at the recent music festival in Stettler. Classrooms who presented choral speech numbers, Mrs. Nancy Nielsen’s Grade 4’s, and Mrs. Annette Hunter and Mrs. Donna Boyd-Stadelmann presented their pieces at the concert held at school on Friday.

The music classes presented their grand finale concert to showcase their festival pieces during school on Friday, April 30. All of the students were able to see their classmates perform, and parents were also invited to come and hear the musical talents of their children as they sang, dances, and played instruments under the direction of the music teachers at Stettler Elementary School.

Mrs. Beth Lynes teaches the kindergarten, grade 1 and 2 classes; and Miss. Amanda Hugh conducts the grade 3,4, and 5 classes.

Our other music teacher, Mrs. Tricia Kirby, is presently away on maternity leave, but returned to hear this special event.

Mini basketball season is upon us, and Stettler Elementary students are able to learn some valuable basketball and fitness skills under coach and elementary school physical education teacher Mrs. Kim Poapst.

Mrs. Poapst is also busy organizing recess events of rat ball and a skipping club.
