Audiences at Stettler Elementary School were enthralled with mime artist Max-i-mime who visited our school last Monday, April 12. It was a very engaging production that involved several students and staff participating on stage. Students were impressed with the performance, and are eagerly anticipating the next cultural presentation, “When we came west,” coming in May.

Stettler and District Music Festival is fast approaching and our school will be involved on April 21 and 22 in both school chorus and choral speech. Check out the Stettler Elementary School newsletter for specific dates and times for your child.

Our school will be continuing to participate in litterless lunch. All staff and students are asked to bring a waste-free lunch, especially on our designated Litterless Lunch Days April 22 (Earth Day), and April 29.

We welcome Mrs. Sarah Chapman back to Grade 4 after her maternity leave.

Her class has been building fur trading forts to correspond with their social studies curriculum. The students have been working hard to create forts that are authentic to Albertan fur trading history, and are completing detailed write-ups describing their building decisions.

Also, Mrs. Chapman’s Grade 4 class will again begin playing crib with the experts at Paragon Place. It is a great opportunity for the students to sharpen their math skills and make new friends in the community.
