STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- Have you come to the Stettler Public Library yet and gotten your library card? You can travel to so many places with that card: Hogwarts, Gotham City, Emerald City, Bedrock, Atlantis, Florin, Gondor, Sodor... . What! You don't want me to keep going because you get the idea! Well, actually your library cards can take you special places locally as well because September is library card sign-up month. For this month alone you can present your library card at Bloke's Bakery and receive a free donut, receive 10 per cent off at the Coffee Tree and Party Maxx and you get 15 per cent off at Savage Value Drug Mart. Your library card does open up a world of possibilities.
Read and Rhyme is back! Little people (ages 0-5) bring your big people each Monday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for songs, rhymes, and crafts. Let's get the library jumping.
Darlene has been planning all summer for her new afterschool program. Join her on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 3:30 pm when you find out what would happen "If Kids Ruled the World" and you get to make your own rule book. The fun is back on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m. when the kids explore "Fletcher and the Falling Leaves" and make some beautiful leaf rubbing art.
What do you get when you combine art with science? You get Goo Glue Painting! Join Elaine on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. when we see what really does happen when you mix glue, paint and other substances. I know that you will have colourful, explosive, gooey fun!
Has lunch gotten you down? Tired of sandwiches and McDonald's? Why not join us for the next installment of the Cookbook Club. We will be meeting on Monday September 19 at 6 p.m. while we let our palates try the tantalizing temptations of portable food for lunches. New members are always welcome. Cookbooks are available for the choosing at the Library.

I'm positive that you will find him at the monthly Pokemon Swap Meet on Saturday, September 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Play, battle, and trade your favourite Pokemon at the Stettler Public Library. And you don't even need your phone to find these Pokemon!
The Stettler Public Library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 26 for staff professional development. We will be back refreshed and renewed on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 10 a.m.
We are very pleased to have Lorraine Lohr Cathro return to the Library on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. She will be talking about writing your family history: the processes, rewards and the challenges. Refreshments will be provided.
