ENDIANG/BYEMOOR NEWS -- Christmas events are dominating the news these days. The Endiang Hall was the scene of the Endmoor floor curlers' Christmas dinner on Monday. Members gathered at noon for a delicious ham and scalloped potato dinner with all the trimmings. The group had a Chinese gift exchange then finished off the afternoon with games of floor curling.
The Seniors' Christmas Dinner in Byemoor on Thursday was hosted by the Endmoor Drop-In Society. More than 80 seniors enjoyed a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings at noon at the hall. Byemoor School kindergarten and Grade 1-2 classes visited and provided some entertainment for the seniors.
The main entertainer was Billy Melville, who delighted the audience with songs and chuckwagon racing tales. Billy is the grandson of chuckwagon legend Orville Strandquist. Billy is also co-host and colour commentator for the Chuckwagon Radio Network.

Scapa Community Christmas Concert is on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Scapa Hall. A potluck supper kicks the evening off at 5:30 p.m. Turkey will be supplied. Byemoor School Christmas Concert, always a community highlight, is on Monday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Byemoor Hall with everyone welcome.
We extend sympathy to the family of Bryce Mailer who passed away on Dec. 8 in Stettler. He was 91. Bryce and his wife Verna farmed for many years in the Hackett area, between Byemoor and Gadsby, where they raised their family. Our thoughts are with Verna and the Mailer family in the loss of this fine gentleman.
We send anniversary greetings to David and Shirley (nee Crawford) Hawco on the celebration of their 40th wedding anniversary on Dec. 11.
Mark your calendars for the Sullivan Lake West Agricultural Society's annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor. It is important to attend the AGM to ensure there is enough attendance for the society to be grant eligible.
