Season for family reunions in Halkirk

Fifty-plus descendents of Percy and Nellie Anderson of the Halkirk area gathered at the weekend in Lacombe for their bi-annual get together. The family were thankful that the weather turned nice and they were able to enjoy the facilities at Michener Park. Jamie Patroch, Grayden and Qwynn from Sooke, BC returned home on Saturday evening following the reunion having spent three weeks visiting family.

Congratulations to Dana and Carmen Somers of Leduc on the birth of a 7 lb 10 oz baby boy, Evan Arther, born on July 20 in Edmonton. Evan has a big sister Anna (3) at home. Proud grandparents are Bill and Joanne Lee. The family got together at the weekend to welcome the new baby.

Congratulations to Mandy and Dale Gonda on the birth of their daughter Riley Marie on Friday Aug. 13th weighing in at 7lb 12oz. Riley has two big sisters, Sage and Casey. Grandparents are Diane Gonda and Linda and David Chick.

Jacquie and Paul Dietrich had Jacquie’s daughter, Linda Fekete, from Calgary visit with them last weekend.

Mel and Dale Kent along with grandchildren Morgan, Brian, and Mackie went to visit with Greg and Laura Kent, who now make their home in Fort Nelson, B.C. They also went to the hot springs in Laird, B.C.
